First off, This a picture of Shane Taylor who plays Medic Eugene Roe in the mini-series Band of Brothers.
Eugene Roe served in Easy Company 506th PIR 101st Airborne during World War II.
The quote made by Lt. Foley is from the book "Band of Brothers" by Stephen Ambose, if you haven't read it I suggest you do.
Although I joke with me sister about how I love my medics, I do admire and respect them a lot. As an EMT in a small town, there are times that it can be emotionally trying. I can only imagine how hard it had to be for men like Eugene Roe to try and help soldiers they knew and cared for under conditions that were dangerous not only for their patients but themselves as well.
I also want to Thank All soldiers and veterans for serving our country and keeping us safe and free.
Thank you If you enjoy reading about Easy Company I have some books that I recommended you read. (if you haven't already )
"Biggest Brother: The Life of Major Dick Winters, the man who led the band of brothers" by Larry Alexander
"Beyond the Band of Brothers: The war memoirs of Major Dick Winters" by Dick Winters
"The way we were : Band of Brothers 'E' Company 506th PIR 101st Airborne Division" by Cpl. Forrest Guth
All are very good books, the last one might be kinda hard to find, its out of print in the US. I got lucky enough to run across it in Holland.
Thanks again

I'm suppose to 'Serve and Protect' but when I look at my community it makes me want to be the first in line to beat them with a very BIG stick.
I was an Army 91A Basic Combat Medic during the first Gulf War. As medics and EMTs we love our jobs, but it's one of the few jobs where you actually hope you won't be needed. For it means that someone is in pain. Great work!
